March 08, 2010When a crisis hits a family, sometimes it is unsafe for a child to remain in the home. Temporary separation is sometimes the only alternative to keep a child safe. Foster Care can provide a safe, loving home to a child while family issues are addressed. In 2009, Children's Friend served 51 children in our foster care program. Our program promotes and helps ensure that children achieve stability and permanency in their lives – which they all deserve. Foster parenting can provide joy to a family while helping a child through a temporary crisis or while waiting for adoptive parents. At Children's Friend, we're recruiting Foster Parents with a renewed energy and commitment to provide the necessary training and support throughout the entire process as we reinforce the importance of Foster Care ...and making a difference one child at a time. To get more information on becoming a Foster Parent through Children's Friend please contact Amanda Ball at aball@cfsri.org.
