July 12, 2010Once again Bryant University and PricewaterhouseCoopers have included our kids in their Accounting Careers Leadership Institute. Each year Bryant and PricewaterhouseCoopers select a diverse group of high school juniors, from around the country, to participate in the Leadership Institute. The Accounting Careers Leadership Institute, held at Bryant University, is a week-long, hands-on immersion program for the high school students to learn about accounting and its role in society. As part of the Leadership Institute the students participate in team building activities. In one of the activities the students build bicycles and tricycles for some of the children served by Children’s Friend. Bryant and PricewaterhouseCoopers purchase the bikes, helmets, and all the accessories. On Friday, July 2, the last day of the Leadership Institute, the high school students presented the newly built bikes to our kids. You can imagine how excited our kids were to have new bikes for the summer. The smiles were shared by all. Congratulations to Bryant University and PricewaterhouseCoopers for showing the leaders of tomorrow the importance of making a positive difference in the lives of vulnerable young children. And thanks to all for making the summer better for 27 of our children.
