Much of my time has been spent working on hiring staff and enrolling families in our expanding programs. There are of course many other aspects involved in operating a high-quality and effective early care and education program.

One of them involves facilities. We have staff and contractors hard at work readying classrooms for occupancy in September. We are also painting classrooms  and other areas in our facilities. This is where volunteer efforts are shining.

Thanks to over 50 volunteers, from the Children’s Friend family, school groups, local businesses, and caring individuals, the majority of our classrooms will have a fresh coat of paint or two. Hundreds of gallons of paint and supplies were donated by generous local paint, hardware, and home improvement stores.

These donations of resources and time are a testament to the community’s concern for and support of vulnerable young children.
