Karla Harry Memorial Storyteller Event

On Thursday, February 19, 2009 Children’s Friend, in sponsorship with the Junior League of Rhode Island and Fidelity Investments, hosted Nationally Acclaimed Storyteller Len Cabral. The event was a huge success and was a wonderful experience for our families. Len used many different storytelling techniques such as mime, poetry, song, humor, and vivid characterizations; he captivated the entire audience with guests of all ages. Lt. Governor Elizabeth Roberts also attended the event and read a story to the children.

Thanks to a generous donation from Fidelity Investments, over 200 books were given out to children and families that attended the event. The event was held in memory of Karla Harry, a former Junior League member with a passion for reading. Thank you to all who attended the event and a special thank you to the Junior League and Fidelity Investments for making the event possible.
