Job OpportunitiesTitle: Development Associate Reports To: Director of Development Supervises: N/A Required Education/Training/Licensure At least a Bachelors Degree. A high school diploma with at least two (2) years experience in development in a child welfare agency may be substituted. Experience with Raiser’s Edge preferred. Must have and maintain: an automobile fit for use in the program; a valid driver’s license; and, automobile liability insurance in an amount established by the agency. Required Skills and Abilities Able to produce accurate and timely work and to be held accountable for such work KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES 1. Manage the agency’s annual Walk/Run for Children including, but not limited to, staffing the Walk/Run planning committee; recruiting and managing donors, volunteers, and per diem staff; promoting the event; managing the set-up and take-down the event and related logistics; and, thanking donors and volunteers. (25% of time). 2. Manage the agency’s annual Holiday Drive including, but not limited to, recruiting and managing donors and volunteers; keeping accurate records of donations; thanking donors and volunteers (25% of time). 3. Supervise the volunteer and intern programs including, but not limited to, identifying and recruiting volunteers; identifying volunteer opportunities at the agency; coordinating the orientation of volunteers; thanking and recognizing volunteers (25% of time). 4. Assists the Development Director in building positive relationships with donors and other interested parties. Refers all potential major donors to the Development Director. (15% of time) 5. Solicits, with the approval of the Development Director, businesses and individuals for donations to fundraising or program activities. (10% of time) Other Agency Responsibilities 6. Assists in improving and maintaining the accuracy of the data in Raiser’s Edge. 7. Assists in publicizing agency programs and educating the public about the agency. 8 Contributes to the overall success and quality of the development program by working constructively and collaboratively with staff to address program and agency issues and needs. This includes assisting with other development initiatives including, but not limited to the annual Luncheon, United Way Campaign, Media Events, and Cultivation Events. 9. Constructively utilize formal and peer supervision to evaluate and improve effectiveness in providing services to clients. This includes active participation in supervision, team meetings and agency meetings. 10. Pursue ongoing professional development through reading professional literature and attending relevant workshops and conferences (including Children’s Friend’s supervisory training program). 11. Other duties as assigned. |
