Title:                                       Parenting Specialist - Project Connect  (Temporary 6 Months)

Reports To:                            Project Connect Supervisor

Supervises:                             N/A

Minimum Qualifications:        Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services with at least 1 year of training and/or experience with parenting issues, substance abuse, and at-risk families.  Must have and maintain a valid drivers license, a car fit to be used for work related tasks, and auto liability insurance in an amount acceptable to the agency.  Bi-lingual (English/Spanish) and/or professional licensed preferred.

Abilities:                    Able to work constructively with clients, agency staff, and other service providers.

 Duties and Responsibilities

Receives and reviews cases from Project Connect workers; assess each referral per program standards and guidelines.

Develops and implements a service plan for each family per the program’s guidelines and standards.

Co-leads parenting groups as assigned.

Maintains contacts with all other service providers and/or involved entities.

Prepares all needed reports, including progress reports, termination summaries, and insures that all documentation is accurate and up-to-date per the program’s guidelines and the agency’s policies.  Distributes reports and documentation to all appropriate parties.

Pursues ongoing professional development through professional reading and attending relevant workshops and conferences (including Children’s Friend’s core training program).

Assists in publicizing program/other agency program and educating others about the agency and its services.

Consistently meets established productivity standards for the program and agency including at least 21 contact hours per week.
