RITE AID FOUNDATION GRANT AWARDED TO Children’s Friend September 23, 2011 — Children’s Friend is proud to announce it received a $6,000 grant from the Rite Aid Foundation to support children that do not have medical insurance or those that experience an unexpected lapse in their medical coverage to access Family Counseling services. The Family Counseling program provides therapeutic services to children and their families through individual and family counseling, play therapy, and parent support. Children enrolled in the program receive treatment for problems related to mental health diagnoses such as depression, panic disorder, ADHD and post traumatic stress disorder. Services help children develop social skills, productive ways to express their emotions, manage their behavior and build self-esteem. Children’s Friend works with those who are struggling financially to ensure that all children have access to the services they need. “This gift will allow the Family Counseling program to continue helping families as they seek support in managing their child’s mental health,” said David Caprio, President and Chief Executive Officer of Children’s Friend. “Children’s Friend is very thankful for the Rite Aid Foundation’s generous support.” |
