Straight Pool Benefits Children’s FriendOn June 17th, 2008, Jack Partridge of Partridge Snow & Hahn, LLP celebrated the release of his second book, “Straight Pool”. To mark the occasion, he hosted a book signing event at the Hope Artiste Village in Pawtucket, an eclectic mix of artists and entrepreneurs in one of the biggest mill restoration projects in Rhode Island. “Straight Pool” is the second of the Algy Temple mystery series, following the well received “Carom Shot” published in 2005. “Straight Pool” tells the story of a suspicious fire at a swanky golf club and the body found in the ashes. The plot includes a mayor clashing with a college administrator and a local Indian tribe and their efforts to build a casino. Choice pieces of the real historical and political background of Providence provide plenty of local color. Mr. Partridge has been a practicing attorney in Providence for 40 years. Born in Central Falls and raised in Pawtucket, Mr. Partridge is involved with numerous civic and charitable organizations in Rhode Island, including Children’s Friend. The evening’s book signing was a tremendous success, resulting in over $700 donated to Children’s Friend to further our work on behalf of Rhode Island’s most vulnerable children
