Voluncheers is an annual volunteer appreciation event hosted by Serve Rhode Island, the Rhode Island State Commission for National and Community Service.

This year was the first year that Children’s Friend participated in the event by nominating Laura Napolitano.
Laura has volunteered with Children’s Friend for 16 years. She has gone above and beyond to help us fulfill our mission. She also participates in her employee match program at Verizon which gives a monetary donation based on the number of hours Laura volunteers each year.

Laura is a very reliable and well-rounded volunteer. She is always open and willing to help with whatever projects are going on throughout the year. Laura is a great leader and willing to assist staff and other volunteers with the task at hand.

Voluncheers was attended by Laura and her family including her mom, dad, brother, and sister, as well as David Caprio, President and Chief Executive Officer of Children’s Friend, and Amanda Ball, Volunteer Coordinator at Children’s Friend.

Laura was nominated along with 72 other individuals who have given back to 54 organizations in need throughout the State. Congratulations to Laura, and thank you for your dedication to Rhode Island’s most vulnerable children!
