Children's Friend Celebrates Our 177th Birthday!

On June 10th, Children’s Friend staff and Board of Directors came together for the 177th Annual Meeting to celebrate agency accomplishments this past year and look forward to what is planned for the year to come. Children’s Friend also took the time to recognize employees who have been a part of the agency for five and ten years to thank them for their dedicated service.

Children’s Friend also presented the Michelle Norris Award to the Providence Children’s Museum. The award is presented annually to an individual or organization that has provided extraordinary support and/or assistance toward the agency’s mission of improving the future for children in Rhode Island. The award is presented in memory of Michelle Norris, a Central Falls first grader who was abducted from her neighborhood and murdered more than 23 years ago.

It was a wonderful day to recognize individuals and organizations that help the agency in its mission to serve Rhode Island’s most vulnerable children.
