February 15, 2010One of the national priorities of the Child Welfare League of America is to call on Congress and the President to convene a White House Conference on Children and Youth. First held in 1909 and then approximately every 10 years thereafter, the last White House Conference on Children and Youth was held in 1970. There has been nothing since. In this time of poor economic conditions and limited resources, it is important to continue to bring forward and share new effective ideas and best practices. We at Children’s Friend are proud to join with the Child Welfare League in urging Congress to enact and the President to convene a White House Conference on Children and Youth this year.
