On Wednesday March 23 Children’s Friend is excited to host a visit from Acting Assistant Secretary, David Hansell, of the Administration for Children and Families. He will be in Rhode Island for several meetings and to participate in the New England Fathering Conference.

Secretary Hansell is making time in his visit to Rhode Island to come to the Children’s Friend Friendship Center. Friendship Center is home to center based Head Start services for 330 children each day. It is the base of operations for our Providence Early Head Start home based services. Friendship Center is also home to the Dad’s Making A Difference program and support groups for adoptive parents. All these programs and initiatives are made possible by funding from the Administration for Children and Families.

We are excited to host Secretary Hansell and to welcome him to Children’s Friend. He is expected to arrive at Friendship Center at approximately 2pm on Wednesday 03/23/11. He will spend some time interacting with the children and at approximately 2:30pm he will meet with parents, staff, and visitors. Feel free to stop by Friendship Center on Wednesday to meet Mr. Hansell.
