July 19, 2010Foster Parenting is more than helping a child...it provides hope for an entire family.
The children in our foster care program are infants and young children. Some of the children have been abused, some have been neglected, some have been born with a positive drug screen. The reasons vary. Some children may be waiting to reunite with their birth parents, some may be waiting to move in with adoptive families. The circumstances vary, but the need remains the same.... a safe, happy home.
Foster parents allow birth parents an opportunity to work on issues that are negatively affecting their lives. While the birth parent takes the necessary steps toward providing a better life for their child, foster care provides children with a safe, loving and nurturing environment. At Children's Friend, we believe that every child has the right to develop physically and emotionally with the best resources possible.
The need for foster families is great. If you would like to learn more about becoming a foster parent or are interested in attending an upcoming Open House, please contact Amanda Ball, Foster Parent Recruiter, at 401.276.4344, or at aball@cfsri.org.
Please help make a difference... one child at a time.
