Title:                          Dads Making a Difference Supervisor

Reports to:                 Assistant Vice-President, Programs

Qualifications: Master’s Degree in Social Work or a related field and Clinical Social Work Licensure, or equivalent education or experience. Experience working with at-risk families, staff supervision, program management and collaboration with other agencies.  Must have a valid driver’s license, auto liability insurance limits, and a car to be used for work related tasks.

Duties

  1. Oversee all areas of Dads Making a Difference operations including the establishment and implementation of program goals, relationships with funding sources and other state, federal and community based operations.
  2. Demonstrate effective leadership of Children’s Friend through a commitment to excellence, modeling for others, and building a culture of success.  Provide leadership in ensuring that all individuals are treated respectfully and that diversity in backgrounds and life experience is supported and valued throughout the agency.
  3. Identify specific opportunities for integration and collaboration throughout the agency and provide leadership to the process.
  4. Participate in the recruiting, hiring and training of program staff.
  5. Provide direct supervision to program staff, including regular evaluations of staff performance.
  6. Develop program procedures, including case selection and intake services.
  7. Ensure proper maintenance of records and reports required by the agency and funding sources.
  8. Coordinate program evaluation activities, including utilization of instruments, data collection and dissemination.
  9. Participation with agency and community initiatives regarding fatherhood issues, including Father and Family Network of RI and Children’s Friend Male Involvement Committee.
  10. Assist with the development and implementation of prevention and support programs for at-risk children and their families.
  11. Constructively utilize formal and informal supervision to evaluate and improve effectiveness in providing services to clients.  This includes active participation in supervision, team meetings and agency meetings.
  12. Pursue ongoing professional development through reading professional literature and attending relevant workshops and conferences (including Children’s Friend’s core management training program).
