Job Title:Interpreter/Translator & Referral Coordinator
Reports to: Early Intervention Manager
Qualifications: High School graduate with ability to provide interpretation services for program staff. A pleasant telephone manner, as well as excellent interpersonal skills when dealing with staff, clients, visitors and Board members and the ability to recognize and respect the need for confidentiality. Must be able to work flexible hours. Must have a valid driver’s license, auto liability insurance, and a car to be used for work related tasks. Must be fluent in English and Spanish. Ability to translate written documents a plus.
Duties
- Provide interpretation/translation services for families and program staff by communicating/writing effectively in the family’s native language. This includes the full range of Early Intervention services.
- Coordinate and organize all EI referrals and collaborate with referral sources, CAPTA liaison, EDS and other significant parties to gather information and complete referral.
- Implement Early Intervention services that conform with all federal, state and agency standards.
- Maintain client records by completing all necessary documentation within established timeframes.
- Attend all statewide and agency wide training for Early Intervention staff, including the Introduction to Early Intervention Program four day training, as appropriate.
- Constructively utilized formal and per supervision to evaluate and improve effectiveness in providing service to clients. This includes active participation in supervision, team meetings and agency meetings.
- Pursue ongoing professional development through professional reading and attending relevant workshops and conferences (including Children’s Friend’s core training program).
