Aimee Mitchell Named Senior Vice President of

Children’s Friend

June 20, 2011 – Children’s Friend is pleased to announce the promotion of Aimee Mitchell to Senior Vice President, Programs & Operations/Head Start Director.

Aimee has been Administrator of Programs since she joined Children’s Friend in 2007 and also became Director of Head Start in 2009.  As a member of the agency’s senior administrative team, Aimee was responsible for all of the agency’s programs.  In her new position, she will now oversee all support services at Children’s Friend in addition to these new duties.

“Aimee is passionate about serving the children in our community,” said David Caprio, President and CEO of Children’s Friend.  “We served more than 30,000 children and their family members in 2010 through our programs.  Aimee’s dedication to running our programs makes her a tremendous asset to Children’s Friend.”

Aimee has served as adjunct faculty at Springfield College School of Social Work, and Smith College School of Social Work, lecturing on clinical issues related to child and adolescents and providing field supervision to students. She has a master’s degree in clinical social work from Smith College, and is a recent graduate of the UCLA/Johnson & Johnson Head Start Management Fellows Program.
