Children’s Friend is one of Rhode Island’s Best Places to Work in 2009!

Children’s Friend was one of 28 organizations to receive the Providence Business News’ Best Places to Work award. Children’s Friend was determined one of the Best Places to Work by employees who completed a survey.

This survey enables analysts to make a thorough assessment of the strengths and opportunities of our agency against other participating companies. Children’s Friend ranked seventh in the Medium Company Category (50-149 Employees).

Employees receive respect, genuine interest, flexibility in scheduling, competitive salary and excellent healthcare benefits, but as Executive Director, David Caprio stated in the Providence Business News article “You’re coming here because of your passion.”

The mission of Children’s Friend is to promote the well-being and healthy development of Rhode Island’s most vulnerable children by providing flexible, effective and culturally relevant services that support and strengthen families and communities.

The mission drives the agency to attract the best while providing the resources for employees to succeed. This allowed the staff to serve more than 17,500 of Rhode Island’s most vulnerable children and their families in 2008. Because of overall employee satisfaction and the ability of the agency to stay true to its mission, Children’s Friend is one of the best places to work in Rhode Island.
