Fall is upon us which means that our Development Department is gearing up for our 14th Annual Investing in Our Children Luncheon and Spirit of Giving Holiday Drive events, and the Finance Department is turning our focus to building our 2017 agency budget.
The Finance Department has been meeting with program and department managers over the last two months to craft a responsible, integrated budget that reflects Children’s Friend’s priorities: the children and families that we serve and our employees performing this honorable work. Children’s Friend is fortunate to have an endowment that covers our administrative overhead and helps us fill the gaps when funding from programs falls short. Children’s Friend is equally fortunate to have a loyal donor base that believes and invests in our work and supports us in our efforts.
Our draft budget will be presented to our Leadership Team where it will undergo final refinements before being presented to our Board Finance Committee. Our Finance Committee will recommend our 2017 agency budget be presented to our entire Board of Directors for approval later this fall. If they are in agreement, this will become the blueprint for how Children’s Friend operates in 2017.
Thank you for all that have and will contribute to this process for helping ensure that our 2017 agency budget properly reflects the priorities and values of Children’s Friend.
