As we begin a new year, unfortunately dark clouds hang over the well-being of our most vulnerable kids.
On a federal level inaction by Congress has left two important programs for vulnerable kids up in the air. The Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) and the Maternal Infant and Early Childhood Home Visiting Program (MIECHV) both expired on September 30, 2017 and have not been re-authorized.
While there is much chaos in Washington and division across the nation, it is sad to see that our leaders in Washington can’t find a way to ensure that children in our country have continued access to health insurance.
