Just a few weeks ago the Office of the Child Advocate for Rhode Island released a report on a review of 4 child fatalities and 2 near fatalities. This report comes just a year after the same office released a report on 5 child fatalities that occurred in 2015 in Rhode Island.
The report documents that in Rhode Island, young vulnerable children are dying because our safety net is neither comprehensive enough nor effective enough. The full report from the Office of the Child Advocate is attached here.
Please join with us in advocating for the full implementation of the recommendations contained in the report, which will help to ensure that in Rhode Island we have a comprehensive and effective safety net to protect our most vulnerable children.
