These words illuminated the State House this past weekend as thousands gathered in Providence to honor breast cancer patients, survivors and those lost to the disease.
The month of October represents an annual worldwide health campaign designed to increase breast cancer awareness and to raise money for research into its cause, treatment and prevention. The campaign also offers information and support to those affected by breast cancer.
The campaign starts on October 1 and ends October 31 each year. A critical message is to educate people about the importance of early and regular screenings through mammograms. Early detection, when breast cancer is easier to treat, saves lives.
Make a difference, wear a pink ribbon and spread the word! Together we can raise awareness that will lead to life-saving research and life-changing support.
