Full Day Head Start Classes

Diverse group of preschoolers listening to a story.

On both a national and local level our leaders are seeing the importance and value of high quality early childhood education experiences for our children, specifically for our most vulnerable kids.

To further improve the positive outcomes of Head Start the federal government is investing in additional classroom time for Head Start kids, with a goal of moving Head Start classrooms from a part-day to a full-school day and full-school year schedule.

On the state level we are thrilled that the Governor’s proposed 2018 budget includes funding to increase the length of the school day and school year for the state funded Head Start classrooms. With proper investments, high-quality programming, and effective partnerships we can ensure that all of our young kids enter school prepared and ready to thrive.
