The goal of this position is to provide an intern with an opportunity to gain event planning experience, enhance communication and relationship building skills, and to gain experience working in a nonprofit workforce.
Assist Development Coordinator on planning the agencies annual major events, including the Investing In Our Children Luncheon and Silent Auction, Spirit of Giving Holiday Drive, Children’s Friend 5K Walk and Run, Annual Reading Week, Kick-Off Celebrations and other events.
Attend and assist in preparing for committee meetings.
Support with invitations and mailings
Researching potential sponsors and donors and tracking research.
Reach out to select companies to schedule supply drives (diapers, blankets, coats, etc.)
Depending on availability, help the Development Team at events.
Intern Candidates Will:
Express a strong interest in working in an event planning and non-profit environment.
Be self-motivated and able to work independently.
Demonstrate time management & multitasking skills.
Be able to adapt to a fast-paced work environment.
Undergraduate college students, majoring in Non-Profit Studies, Events Management, English, Communications, Marketing or other related fields are encouraged to apply.
