Community Nurse with the Nurse-Family Partnership (NFP)
Join the Children’s Friend Agency as a home visiting nurse, where you’ll be a part of a team that delivers home based nursing services using the NFP model to the most vulnerable families including mothers and their babies. As an NFP nurse, you will conduct required infant and parent assessment screenings with all families participating in the NFP program. Use your relationship building skills and professional nursing talents to identify challenges related to the care, health and development of the infants and children. Once challenges are identified, you’ll create and implement appropriate goals for mothers in the program through long-term relationships with the families. This is a rewarding career for those who believe in the power of a healthy community and enjoy making a difference in the lives of the most vulnerable community members.
Our ideal candidates will have the ability to work in a semi-autonomous, independent work environment, have strong organizational and creative skills and will understand the population we service. They will be adaptable, resourceful, and thrive on the variety of situations that occur from day-to-day.
Nurse-Family Partnership is a national evidence-based maternal and child home visiting service for expectant first-time mothers and their newborns. We pair expectant mothers with a registered nurse, who provides free, intensive home visiting services for the mother and her child until the child’s second birthday. This opportunity affords new employees the opportunity to learn on the job while building a base of families. In becoming an NFP Nurse, you will be joining a national network of caring nursing professionals who ensure that pregnant and parenting moms have the supports they need to achieve their full potential as individuals and as families.
