This past weekend marked the first year of new leadership for the country and it also marked the one-year anniversary of the Women’s March. At the same time, we observed the first two days of a federal shutdown, which was thankfully short-lived. The milestones of this past weekend have made me reflect on the past year.
In many respects, January is traditionally the month of new beginnings, fresh starts for the year. It is also a time of reflection. In a country of so much division it is times like this that vividly remind me how proud I am to work for an organization that always puts children and families first regardless of politics.
