Every November we celebrate National Adoption Month. We acknowledge and celebrate those families supported through adoption at Children’s Friend.
On November 2nd, we invited over 100 families to an Adoption Celebration where they enjoyed great food, conversation, and family fun. This year, we were fortunate to have a guest speaker, April Dinwoodie. April is nationally known for her podcasts and trainings regarding transracial adoption and identity. The special part of her story is that she was adopted through Children’s Friend as a young child. April inspired us all as she spoke to our families about the joys and the challenges of adoption.
As the holiday season begins, please take the time to reflect on what you are thankful for. At Children’s Friend one of the many things we are thankful for is having all of our foster and adoptive parents.
