The federal authorization that supports evidence based home visiting for young at-risk children, Maternal, Infant, and Early Childhood Home Visiting (MIECHV), expires on September 30, 2017. Unless Congress acts to extend, these services will come to an end.
In Rhode Island this federal funding is used to provide programs such as Nurse Family Partnership, Healthy Families America, and Parents as Teachers, to our youngest and most vulnerable kids and their families.
