“And so even though we face difficulties of today and tomorrow, I still have a dream. It is a dream deeply rooted in the American dream.” – http://www.thekingcenter.org/archive
During a week that is bookended by two important events in this time of political turmoil, from the celebration of the life of a visionary and leader the American Civil Rights movement, to the inauguration of a new leader for this country, I have been thinking most about the families we serve every day.
And though we are still very much a divided country after a brutal election year, I feel fortunate to be part of an organization with a long history and strong mission to serve our most vulnerable children. Left or right, Republican or Democrat, conservative or liberal or somewhere in between – this should not matter. Our children are our responsibility as a larger community and we have to look past our current difficulties to ensure a brighter future.
