The first meeting of the Walk Planning Committee officially launched last week.  The 17th Annual Walk & Run sponsored by Panera Bread is scheduled for May 4th at the Roger Williams Temple to Music. Here’s to another year of fantastic food from our title sponsor, Panera Bread, great entertainment, a challenging walk and run, and happy kids and families – all for a great cause!

The committee is a wonderful mix of corporate and community members all volunteering their time to help the organization broaden its circle and raise essential dollars for our programs and services. We couldn’t do it without their enthusiasm, creativity and hard work!

For 2019 we’ve created the hashtag – #WhyIWalkCF – and will be spotlighting committee members and sponsors and why they walk to support Children’s Friend.

Randy Stoloff

To kick us off – I’d like to introduce Randy Stoloff. Randy has been Chair of our Walk Planning Committee and a member of our Development Committee for many years.  When asked why he’s serving on the 2019 Walk & Run Planning Committee again this year, Randy replied, “This is a great organization with people passionate about what they do.” His plans for training include, “training diligently for the 5K so that my 10-year old doesn’t beat me!”

Randy’s commitment to this event has had a great impact on its growth over the years.  Each year he challenges the committee with fresh, new ideas – all to benefit the children we serve every day. Thanks, Randy and we’re sure happy you are here to lead our efforts again this year!

Save the date for May 4th and keep checking back.  We have some fun plans this year!

I’ll leave you with two questions today:

  1. Will you support the Children’s Friend 5K Walk & Run this year?
  2. Why do you walk? Let us know!

Get ready folks, Registration begins March 1st!
