Get the COVID Vaccine to Care for Yourself and Your Community

2020 and 2021 have brought unprecedented, overwhelming, often painful change with the COVID-19 pandemic.  And yet, in the midst of this, there’s a beacon of hope – scientists were able to develop a safe, effective vaccine that protects against COVID.  In the midst of so much change, it can be hard to know what to trust.  In the Strategy department at Children’s Friend, we know how hard – but important – change can be!  That’s why we as Children’s Friend want to assure our staff, clients, and community that the COVID vaccine is safe and effective – and getting it is an important way to take care of the most vulnerable people in our community.

The Center for Disease Control, our country’s authority on disease, has shared this:

“COVID-19 vaccines were evaluated in tens of thousands of participants in clinical trials. The vaccines met the Food and Drug Administration’s (FDA) rigorous scientific standards for safety, effectiveness, and manufacturing quality needed.”

“Millions of people in the United States have received COVID-19 vaccines, since they were authorized for emergency use by FDA. These vaccines have undergone and will continue to undergo the most intensive safety monitoring in U.S. history.” [link: https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/vaccines/safety/safety-of-vaccines.html]

Individuals who get the vaccine are protected.  But in order to stop the spread and mutation of COVID, a vast majority of us need to get the vaccine.  Please, do your part and get the vaccine.
