The official start of summer kicked off yesterday with the longest day of the year. Here at Children’s Friend, we are preparing to welcome 400 preschool children in the most extensive Summer Learning Program ever for the agency.
With the COVID-19 pandemic having lasting effects on our most vulnerable children, a high-quality summer learning experience is more important than ever. Safe, in-class and experiential lessons prepare children for the fall and prevent summer learning loss, which is especially needed after over a year of quarantine and restrictions.
Some children have had limited classroom experience and limited interactions with other children. Our summer learning program allows parents to get back to work while knowing their children are in a safe and nurturing environment. Children escape hot, sometimes unsafe neighborhoods for days filled with fun summertime learning experiences.
